Signature Programs

Art Docents: The Art Docent Program is a parent run art program consisting of eight lessons per grade.  It introduces students to a variety of art forms including watercolor, ceramics, oil pastel, still life and mosaic. These lessons allow students to explore their creativity while enjoying a guest teacher for the hour – Mom or Dad!  

CHAMPS: Safe and Civil Schools, CHAMPS, is classified as Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS) and describes a set of strategies and procedures designed to improve behavioral success by employing non-punitive, proactive, systematic techniques. Tierra Linda has been designated a CHAMPS Demonstration School by the Ventura County Office of Education.  

Life Lab Gardens: Each classroom on campus has the opportunity to participate in the Life Lab Gardens. Planter boxes are prepared by students with an emphasis on local crops,   hands-on experiential learning, and environmental stewardship. The Life Lab Gardens are maintained by teachers, students, and parent volunteers.  

MakerSpace: Our MakerSpace is a gathering place where new and experienced makers connect to work on real and personally meaningful projects, informed by helpful mentors and expertise, using new technologies and traditional tools. Makers are curious – they are explorers – take risks – persistent – resourceful – share – they are optimistic and work on projects that show their creative spirit.

Tierra Linda Community Council: The Tierra Linda Community Council serves to continue the mission and vision of, “Bringing out the best in kids”.  This club will provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and participate in service projects to improve our school and community.  Students may participate in various committees, such as Recess CHAMPS, Community Outreach, Peer Tutoring, School Spirit, Wellness, and Yearbook.  Elected 4th and 5th grade officials serve on the Principal's Cabinet.
